Lola West Duckworth, M.A.  L.M.H.C., is a licensed mental health counselor and professional educator and consultant.  Her training and experiences include:  Undergraduate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling, thirty-five years in public and private education, and over twenty-five years of private practice in mental health counseling with individuals, couples, families and groups.

Lola's counseling approach reflects a warm, encouraging, problem-solving style.  She believes that everyone has the ability to achieve success and promote peace in their life as long as they are willing to make the necessary changes for those accomplishments.  She is trained in a multi-modal therapeutic approach, with particular strengths in Cognitive-Behavioral strategies, EMDR, and ART for the reduction / elimination of Anxiety and Stress Disorders.  Her work with couples emphasizes respectful and structured communication skills by each of the partners.

A  form of psychotherapy that focuses on challenging our thoughts and our actions as a way of bringing about change. Cognitive behavioral therapy has been shown to be the most effective type of psychotherapy for different types of anxiety, self-esteem concerns, and relationship issues.
A technique originally developed to overcome post-traumatic stress disorders, to deal with negativity, irritability, chronic stress patterns, and unhappiness. This treatment approach allows you to uncover and let go of those negative beliefs and emotions held deep within your Neuro-Network that cause serious emotional reactions. EMDR is highly effective in reducing/ eliminating dysfunctional behavior patterns which have stubbornly remained unchanged by rational thoughts, good intentions, or determination.


ART is a form of evidence-based  psychotherapy which more rapidly achieves benefits for the client. Creative and skilled techniques are used to reinforce awareness of and control over a variety of issues, including those of more traumatic causes. Reprogramming the ways memories and images are stored in the brain reduces negative effects on both the belief system and physical state of the client.
